Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What do you teach at your programs?
A: We teach kids all about money and provide them with tools to become financially free. We start off by showing them how to
think about money, then how to make money, how to use/spend money and finally how your money can make you money. We go over
topics such as contracts, goals, budgets, checks, credit cards, smart spending, investing, ways to manage risk, and much, much
more! We also have guest speakers such as a Banker and a Stock Broker.
Q: What kinds of courses do you offer?
A: We offer spring & summer camps, custom programs, condensed programs and after-school programs.

Q: Are your materials credible?
A: We license the materials/curriculum from The Money Camp out of California. The instructors/trainers are certified Money Camp
Coaches - www.themoneycamp.com. The Money Camp is a program that has
been running for 5 years in California. The curriculum has been linked to the California school standards - kids receive school
credit for taking the course.
Q: What makes this program so different than other programs out there?
A: We not only provide kids with basic money management skills, but we make it FUN! The program is high energy. There are no
desks and very little reading and writing. It is very interactive. We play lots of games and have many competitions and
projects.
Q: Where is the program being held? Is it safe?
A: The venues will vary. Please contact us for more details.
We choose locations with big open rooms that are easy access for parents and kids. We try to find an environment that is safe.
The entire day is always supervised. Kids are not on their own for breaks or lunch.
Q: What are your sibling discounts?
A: 10% off each kid! So, if you are paying $375.00 regularly, you will pay the discounted rate of $337.50 for each child.
Q: Do you offer scholarships?
A: Yes, we do! If you are interested in a scholarship, please let us know and we will send you a Scholarship Application Form
for you to fill out. We offer both full and partial scholarships.
Q: How do I get my child interested in attending?
A: Well, for many of you it probably won't be easy, but it is possible! Here are a few suggestions:
- Communicate, don't lecture - talk to your child and explain to them the importance of the information they will be learning.
Have a conversation with them about their concerns and reassure them that this is something that they don't teach at
school, but will definitely need in the future. Children tend to rebel when they feel like they don't have a choice and
they are being forced to do something. By communicating with them and explaining to them the reasons behind it, they will
feel like they are more in control of your decision to send them.
- Get them excited about money - Kids love to learn about something that is current in their lives. They will be more apt to
get excited about our program if they are excited about money. And they will get excited about money if you introduce
them to it, but giving them an allowance and/or opening a bank account etc. They will feel in control of their own funds
and want to learn more about how to use it and how they can make more.
- Assure them that our program is FUN – The #1 thing we hear from our campers is how much fun they had during the week! And,
the #1 comment we hear from parents is that they cannot believe how much fun their child had while learning about money!
Most of the kids that attended went in feeling the same way as your child does, that the camp will be boring and full of
lectures. However, every single camper said that they had a great time, loved all the games and learned a lot too! If
you are interested in talking to parents who have already sent their children to “The Money Camp” please let us know.
We have many parents and kids that are happy to be a reference and share their experiences with you.
- Incentives are a powerful tool - many psychologists agree that using incentives can help you get the behavior you expect from
you child. After all, you are the parent and know what's best for your child! According to B.D. Schmitt, MD, author of
"Your Child's Health", incentives are rewards for good behaviors. Incentives are especially helpful for overcoming
resistance when children are locked in a power struggle or control battle with their parents. Rewards give a child a
reason to end the power struggle. Schmitt states the following on incentives and how to use:
There are four rules that make incentives powerful:
- The incentive is strongly desired by the child. You can ask your child for ideas.
- The reward is given immediately after the child meets the goal.
- The child is given access to the incentive for 30 to 60 minutes.
- The reward continues to be owned and controlled by the parent.
The fourth rule is essential. The child's access to the toy, costume, or other incentive needs to be time-limited. That way your
child is really earning a privilege and not another possession. That's the only way to maintain the incentive's value.
